2.3: The JustTheWord collocation finder

When trying to implement or exchange new AWL words, it is often overlooked that a minor change in a sentence could lead to an error in fluency and sometimes even give a word an unintended meaning. To help me overcome this problem, I a going to use the JustTheWord collocation finder. This internet tool can justify my choice of words or suggest improvements and assist me in experimenting with new word choices.

Because I could not find any relevant conclusions or findings in relation to my text, I will just show how JTW works.

At the homepage of JustTheWord, I entered "attract" in order to see if "attract customers" is a valid combination. All I have to do now is press "combinations" and look at the results.

When looking at the green bars, it can be seen that the bar behind "attract customers" is the second longest after "attract people". Therefore, "attract customers" is a valid combination.
